About this boat

This 2023 Freeman 47 is a serious offshore fishing platform with the space, layout and visibility that make the 47 such a desirable boat. More importantly, this one has recently undergone a major update with a Mercury 400 V10 repower, along with new steering and a new joystick. The new engines currently have just 223 hours, while the hull remains under 1,000 hours. The boat is set up around a true offshore fishing layout. From the bow all the way through the cockpit, there is a tremendous amount of usable deck space with wide walkways down both sides of the console and very little wasted room. The bow remains open and easy to move around while still offering a large forward lounge with contoured seating and diamond-stitched upholstery. At the main helm, the boat is equipped with large Simrad displays arranged across a wide, clean console. Steering, throttles, joystick controls and the primary switch panel are all positioned within easy reach of the operator. Additional electronics and communications equipment are mounted overhead beneath the hardtop. Three individual helm seats with armrests provide dedicated seating at the console, while aft-facing mezzanine-style seating gives passengers a comfortable place to ride while still being able to watch the cockpit and fishing activity behind the boat. One of the standout features is the full tower with an elevated second station. The upper helm provides excellent visibility for spotting fish, working around structure or simply maneuvering the boat from above. The tower and hardtop structure also incorporate outriggers, additional rod storage, lighting and other fishing equipment while keeping the cockpit below open and functional. The cockpit is clearly laid out for anglers. Numerous flush-mounted rod holders are positioned throughout the gunwales with additional rod storage around the tower and helm area. A center cockpit fighting-chair/rocket-launcher setup adds even more rod storage and working space without taking away from the ability to move around the boat. At the stern, the boat is equipped with a full tuna tube system, along with clear-lid wells and a dedicated fishing/rigging area. Raw-water and freshwater connections are positioned in the cockpit, and a transom boarding ladder provides easy water access. Throughout the boat, large flush-mounted deck hatches provide access to storage and below-deck systems while keeping the deck uncluttered. The photos also show organized equipment spaces with pumps, plumbing, wiring and serviceable components arranged for straightforward access. Electronics include Simrad equipment and an Omni CH8 sonar, giving the boat the offshore electronics package expected on a platform of this caliber. What makes this particular 47 especially attractive is that many of the expensive mechanical updates have already been handled. Rather than buying a boat approaching repower time, the next owner gets a Freeman 47 with Mercury 400 V10s showing only 223 hours, new steering and a new joystick, while the hull itself remains under 1,000 hours. For someone looking for a large Freeman set up to fish hard—with a tower, serious electronics, tuna tubes, extensive rod storage, plenty of seating and an enormous amount of usable deck space—this boat checks a lot of boxes.
